MCSO: Woman brings 10-year-old along on convenience store robbery

OCALA, Fla. — A woman was arrested after allegedly bringing her 10-year-old along to an armed robbery at a convenience store near Ocala Friday night, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Christina Gaud, 30, is charged with felony child neglect and principal to an armed robbery after deputies say she drove the getaway car for an armed robbery at a convenience store at the intersection of SW Highway 200 and SW 80th Street.

Deputies said when they arrived at the store, they saw a masked gunman—whom they later identified as 33-year-old Rodney Snow—jump into the passenger side of a car being driven by Gaud.

The car then fled from deputies a short distance before crashing along the 7900 block of SW 80th Street, deputies said.

Snow then fled into a wooded area outside the Indigo East neighborhood on foot before shooting himself after being surrounded by deputies, deputies said.

Snow is currently in intensive care at a hospital, deputies said.

Deputies then discovered Gaud’s child in the car, who was uninjured. The Florida Department of Children and Families is assisting with the safe placement of the child, deputies said.

Gaud is being held in the Marion County Jail.
