Mega Millions $540M jackpot: winning numbers

ORLANDO, Fla. — And the winning numbers for the Mega Millions $540 million jackpot are in!

In Friday's drawing, the winning numbers were 08, 19, 20, 55 and 73. The Mega Ball was 5, and the Megaplier was 2.

Customers at local shops said it was hard to believe the jackpot was so high.

An estimated $1 billion in tickets were sold since the last winning ticket was drawn in early March.

As soon as ticket sales started at 6 a.m., customers started trickling in to the Manila Express convenience store on East Colonial Drive.

“I've seen people spend like $100,” said Manila Express manager Jennifer Deguzman.

“I think I would have to isolate myself for a little while and think about it,” said customer Allan Burgess. “I might want to put this in their safety deposit box rather than my wallet.”

Friday’s jackpot was the game’s third highest, and customers WFTV spoke with said they are ready for the winning numbers and even more excited to cash out.

“I know I would be living life to the fullest, and I would probably buy myself a house,” said customer Johnnie Jimenez.

“First off the bat is to help your family and friends, charities and stuff like that," Burgess said.

The winning numbers were drawn at 11 p.m.
