New Smyrna Beach firefighters battle house fire

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla — New Smyrna Beach firefighters battled a fire that consumed a house Sunday.

Firefighters found the house at 205 Milford Place with heavy smoke and visible flames.

The fire consumed the dining room and extended into the attic, firefighters said.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze in the attic before it spread to the rest of the house.

Firefighters said no one was injured in the fire.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
