One person shot in Daytona Beach home invasion, deputies say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — One person was shot Friday night during a Daytona Beach home invasion, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting was reported at about 9:30 p.m. at a home in the 1500 block of Granada Avenue, deputies said.

Two people inside the home told deputies two unknown men wearing masks came into the house and demanded money.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and shot one of the victims in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Detectives do not believe the robbery was random.
