Missing landscaper found dead in Orange County retention pond

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A missing landscaper was found dead in a retention pond Monday afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies around 2:10 p.m. responded to the retention pond near Stoneybrook Boulevard and South Alafaya Trail in reference to a missing person.

When they arrived on scene, Orange County Fire Rescue located an adult man and his lawn equipment in the pond. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.

There is no indication of any suspicious circumstances or foul play, the Sheriff’s Office said. However, the death investigation is ongoing.
