Orlando leaders approve phase one of Magic entertainment complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — The first phase of a massive entertainment complex in downtown Orlando got its first green light from city leaders.

Orlando city commissioners unanimously approved the $200 million complex Monday.

Eventually, the complex will cover nearly the entire block across from the Amway Center.

Officials said the complex will host music events, cultural events, and pre-and post-game celebrations.

In the spring, the City Council approved the sale of land across the street from the Amway Venter to the Magic for $12.7 million.
