Orlando police investigate 16-year-old shot outside Orlando apartment complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are searching for the shooter who injured a 16-year-old boy.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of 516 Sunset Drive.

The teen was taken to the hospital, but police have not released an update on his condition.

Few details have been released from the police department since it's a holiday, but residents told Channel 9's Cuthbert Langley that they're concerned.

“I got kids here. I don't know what we're going to do because that's scary,” said neighbor Natia Odum.

Odum found the teen shot Sunday and rushed to help him.

“Of course I ran to him, 'cause I recognized him. I knew who he was, and to see if he was OK, and do the best I could for what was going on,” said Odum.

Odum said the teenager didn't live in the complex, but he visited often.

“He's a good kid. Real respectable. He says, ‘Hey,’ to me all the time I see him. He's a real good kid,” Odum said.
