Orlando valet worker accused of stealing checks from customers' cars

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando valet worker at The Mall at Millenia is accused of stealing checks from customers’ cars and using them to steal thousands.

Orlando police said Josue Cantarero, 20, was working at Ameripark as a valet employee in March when he stole the checks.

He’s accused of stealing more than $4,000 over eight separate occasions.

Police said Cantarero forged the victims’ names and deposited the money into a bank account.

A representative for his current employer, Bags, another valet parking company, said Cantarero applied for the job there before he ever had a pending investigation, and that’s why it went unnoticed on his background check.

The representative said he has now shown up to work in a week and will be terminated.
