ORMC worker's Facebook post details night Pulse shooting victims arrived

ORLANDO, Fla. — A worker at Orlando Regional Medical Center posted a touching Facebook post about Sunday’s mass shooting at an Orlando’s Pulse nightclub that’s getting a lot of reaction.

Forty-nine people were killed, and 53 were injured in the barrage of gunfire.

Nikiforos Nikolaos described his night at ORMC as dozens of patients were rushed into the hospital for a mass casualty situation, and the hospital was placed on lockdown.

Nikolaos emphasized while it was incredibly hectic at the hospital, workers were diligent in their response.

“Chaos was thrown at us faster than anyone had ever been trained to handle. We would get one patient stabilized as three more were rolling back,” he said. “But had you seen the harmonic synchrony in which EVERY last team member worked, you would have also shed tears of joy.”

He said he was also overjoyed to see the hundreds of people who lined up to give blood.

The post was shared more than 8,500 times and received 18,000 likes.

Operations at the hospital didn’t return to normal until Monday morning.
