Pizza delivery man shot, working to support wife with cancer

MAITLAND, Fla. — Maitland police have released a sketch Thursday of a man who shot a Papa John's pizza delivery man working to support his sick wife.

Police said a man shot Tim Brown over the weekend on North Orlando Avenue.

Brown's wife made an emotional plea Thursday afternoon to try and help track down the shooter.

"All we have is each other. You have no idea what it's like to hear that … unless you lived through it. Not to know if your husband's going to be alive or going to be dead," Brown's wife said.

Brown's wife, who did not want to release her name because the shooter is still on the loose, is fighting cancer for the fourth time.

She and her husband are now fighting two different battles together.

Brown has been a Papa John's delivery driver for 14 years and was working around the clock to support his wife's treatments.

"He's a fighter for me … everything he does is for me. He works hard, he works six days a week for me to help me so that I can live," Brown's wife said.

She is asking the public to take a close look at the composite sketch of the shooter.

Police said the man shot Brown in the chest by his car after he delivered a pizza at the Maitland Shores apartments.

Brown's wife said he told her the suspect said "give it up," shot him without hesitation and then took off.

"He will fight till the day he dies for me and all he knew is that he had to get out of there and get somewhere and get help," she said.

Brown managed to drive back to the pizza store, where someone called 911.

"If anybody out there knows anything; if somebody's been bragging about shooting a pizza guy … Please call Crimeline," Brown's wife said.

She said her husband is now home, slowly recovering.

Police and Crimeline are offering a $5,000 reward in this case.
