Plane crashes into New Smyrna Beach lake

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Two people were treated for minor injuries after a small plane crashed into a lake in New Smyrna Beach Tuesday.

According to the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department, the plane went down in the Venetian Bay community near Airport Road and Luna Bella Lane around 6:30 p.m.

Units on scene treated 2 patients with minor injuries. No patients are being transported to the hospital.

Neither of the two people on board had to be taken to the hospital.
