Plane crashes, overturns in Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — One person was taken to a hospital and another was injured Monday after a plane overturned into a cow pasture in Brevard County, fire rescue officials said.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of Micco Road in Brevard County.

A pilot with the Florida Institute of Technology told investigators he had to put down his 1975 Cessna 150 during a test flight.

The cabin filled up with smoke while the pilot and student passenger were practicing training maneuvers, Palm Bay police said.

The student passenger was transported to Sebastian River Hospital for precautionary measures, police said.
