Police: Drunken father left baby with Daytona Beach liquor store clerk

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A baby is safe after police said he was left behind at a Daytona Beach liquor store by his father.

Detectives said 26-year-old Kenneth Rowe was drunk when he allegedly stumbled into Sharks Liquor Store near International Speedway on Sunday night and asked the clerk to watch the 11-month-old baby.

The clerk said the baby had a rash on the side of his face and was hungry.

Rowe is facing child neglect charges, and the baby is with the Department of Children and Families.
