ORLANDO, Fla. — Hours before a road-rage incident led to shots fired in the tourist corridor, police said the gunman stole a car and burglarized a home.

The victims met with Orlando police at the Artegon Marketplace on International Drive.

The victims told officers a man in a dark gray Toyota attempted to cut in front of them on Radebaugh Way, but they positioned their vehicle to prevent it.

When they turned onto Millenia Boulevard, they said, the Toyota pulled up beside them, and the driver rolled down the window and fired four shots.

One of the victims took a picture of the Toyota on her cellphone and was able to get a good shot of the license plate.

The Florida tag is associated with an address of an apartment in the North Dyer Corridor of Kissimmee.

Orlando police asked Kissimmee police to check it out.

“When our officers responded on scene, they located an open front door and they realized the residents had actually been burglarized,” said Kissimmee police Lt. Mike Tilton.

The residents of the home were away on vacation when their home was ransacked and their car stolen.

Orlando and Kissimmee police are comparing notes and hope surveillance video from the apartment complex will lead to an arrest.
