Police identity male body found at power plant

POLK COUNTY, Fla.,None — Lakeland police said they have identified a man whose body was found at a Lakeland power plant.

Police identified the victim Wednesday as
25-year-old-Christopher Francis Artes of Baltimore, Md. His body
and that of an unidentified woman were found this week at a
Lakeland electric plant. Authorities say their deaths appear to be
accidental.

Police spokeswoman Ann Dinges told the Ledger of Lakeland
(http://bit.ly/sRB3GJ ) the victims may have hitched a ride on a
coal train and died when the boxcar was being emptied. She says the
boxcar opens from the bottom to empty the coal and the forceful
movement likely caused the blunt force trauma that killed the woman
and asphyxiated Artes.

Workers found the bodies as they sorted the coal into piles from
shipment that arrived Saturday from Terre Haute, Ind.
