Police: Man arrested after kidnapping, raping victim for 2 days at Orlando motel

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Eatonville man kidnapped a person in downtown Orlando and then held them captive for two days while raping them, Orange County law enforcement said.

Investigators said Trevor Howell, 22, forced the victim into the backseat of a car Monday afternoon at the Lynx bus station in downtown Orlando.

An arrest report said Howell took the victim to a Days Inn on International Drive and held them captive for two days.

The victim was eventually able to escape and find help.

The report said that when Orange County deputies arrived at the hotel, Howell refused to identify himself. Deputies were able to identify him using a fingerprint reader.

Howell was arrested on charges of kidnapping and sexual battery.

The victim's gender was not specified in the arrest report.

"Thank goodness. Thank God. I can't imagine having to go through something like that," tourist Kim McCarthy said.

Howell is being held without bail.

Howell has previous charges, including child abuse and second-degree murder, said authorities.
