Police: Man barricaded self, filled home with gas during SWAT standoff

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police said a man locked himself in a home and started filling it with gas during a standoff with a SWAT team.

Authorities said the incident started as a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Nathaniel Jenkins Circle late Monday night.

Police said they were able to shut off the gas and talked him into coming out.

Neighbors were evacuated as a precaution, but no one was hurt.

Authorities have not released arrest information.
