Police: Man shot in downtown Orlando parking garage

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police say a man was critically injured in a shooting that happened inside a downtown Orlando parking garage early Sunday morning.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. in the city parking garage on Central Boulevard near Garland Avenue.

Once on scene, police say a shooting victim was located in the garage. He was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical, but stable, condition.

According to police, two suspects got into an altercation with the victim on the second floor of the garage. Police say the suspects apparently retrieved a gun from a nearby car and shot the victim.

Both suspects fled on foot, leaving their car in the parking garage, investigators say. The car has been towed away to be examined and police hope it will lead them to the suspects.

At the time of the shooting, dozens of people were heading to their cars because the downtown bars and nightclubs had just closed.

The victim's name has not been released by police. The investigation remains ongoing, police say.
