Police: 1 man shot in Ocala, 1 arrested

OCALA, Fla. — One man is accused of shooting another man in the neck and leg early Sunday, Ocala police said.

Lester Smith, 31, was arrested after shooting the 27-year-old man on the 1200 block of South West Fort King Street around 4:45 a.m., police said.

Police found Smith near the crime scene and developed probable cause to arrest him on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, officers said.

The victim was hospitalized and is listed in critical-but-stable condition, police said.
