ST. CLOUD, Fla. —

A St. Cloud man called 911 to report that he hurt his 3-month-old son, according to police Thursday.

Police said they arrived at Larry Perry’s home on 11th Street and found the baby injured. Officers said they transported the baby to the hospital, where he later died.

Perry, 28, was arrested and detectives said he gave a detailed statement as to why and how he killed his son.

Police said Perry was then taken to the Osceola County Jail and was charged with first-degree murder.

There were no other children at the home during the incident, police said.

Officers said the child’s mother, who is incarcerated at the Osceola County Jail on unrelated charges, was notified.
