Police: Persons of interest sought in shooting death of man in Clermont

CLERMONT, Fla. — Two people were being sought for questioning Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man last month, the Clermont Police Department said.

Detectives believe Shaftney McMullen, also known as DeVonte Wright, and Amber Crystal Weaver have information that could lead to an arrest in the June 11 shooting death of Ronald Stedelin at an apartment complex on Disston Avenue, Clermont police Sgt. Shane Strickland said.

McMullen and Weaver have ties to south Lake County and frequent Clermont, Groveland, Mascotte and Stuckey, Strickland said.

The two are considered "persons of interest," police said.

A reward for information that leads to an arrest was increased Thursday to $10,000.

Anyone who has information about their whereabouts is asked to call Detective Scott Tufts at 352-536-8415 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
