Police seek children accused of robbing 12-year-old boys at gunpoint in Rockledge

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. — The Rockledge Police Department is looking for three children who are accused of robbing a pair of 12-year-old boys at gunpoint while they were walking to school Friday.

The victims told officers that they were across the street from Ronald McNair Magnet Middle School when the three alleged robbers approached and threatened them with a gun.

Resident Jeannette Maestre told Channel 9 that surveillance cameras at her home caught video of the incident and hoped that it would help police catch the three children responsible.

“This is so crazy, you know, because a lot of people over here have kids,” she said. “You don’t know what’s going to happen after that.”

The robbery was unsettling for Maestre because she sees children walking to school on her street quite a bit.

She was also concerned about how the children got their hands on a gun in the first place.

“Where did they get them from?” she asked. “That’s crazy.”

No injuries were reported in connection with the robbery, police said.
