TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A few homes were evacuated in a Titusville neighborhood while police tried to coax a barricaded man out of a house Sunday, police said.
A 62-year-old man had barricaded himself in his home on the 1600 block of Milton Street around 8:30 a.m and made threats of harming himself and others, police said.
Both the Titusville SWAT and crisis negotiation teams were dispatched to the house, police said.
Community members within a two-mile radius of the man’s home were issued a reverse 911 message alerting them to the standoff.
Police were able to end the standoff without incident around 1:30 p.m.
Police committed a man to a mental health facility under the Baker Act.
The incident @ the 1600 block of Milton St has concluded without incident. The scene had been cleared.
