LUTZ, Fla. - Police said a Florida teenager is accused of killing his grandmother inside her home at a nudist community and driving around with the body for nearly five hours.
Pasco County sheriff's spokeswoman Melanie Snow said Tuesday that Brandon Machetto, 18, had been living with his grandmother for several weeks and they fought frequently.
Police said a neighbor called authorities early Monday after seeing the teen drag what appeared to be a body into a minivan. Deputies tried to pull over Machetto, but he kept driving.
Authorities said he ended up back at the Paradise Lakes community where his grandmother, 74-year-old Sylvia Schmitt, lived.
Machetto is being held without bail on a first-degree murder charge. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
Friends said Machetto suffered a brain injury several years ago.
