Report: Local TV producer could face 150 years in prison on child porn charges

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year-old executive producer at WOFL Fox 35 in Orlando was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography after an online undercover investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Joshua Vincent Langel, of Winter Park, was arrested by FDLE investigators Friday.

The reporting agent said that he located a computer in Central Florida “advertising known or suspected files that depicted the sexual exploitation of children,” an FDLE report said.

During the undercover investigation, the agent reported that a computer at a residence in the 2600 block of Passamonte Drive had files that matched the criteria, the report said.

A search warrant was issued and Langel’s home was raided by FDLE agents.

In the three-bedroom residence, investigators said they found one of the bedrooms had been converted into a home armory, the report said.

The downstairs area of the home was so cluttered that it “was difficult to traverse as there was debris and items were scattered all over the floor and furniture,” agents said. “There was a narrow path that lead to the kitchen area.”

In an upstairs loft, investigators said they found Langel’s computer and identifying documents.

“Located on the desk was a letter with Fox television station letterhead that was an employment agreement in the name of the defendant,” the report said.

No other documentation was found in the home that would indicate anyone else lived there, agents said.

Langel’s computer was searched at the scene and investigators said they found 10 video files allegedly portraying children engaged in sexual activity, the report said.

“All of the children depicted in the movies above were clearly and obviously under the age of 18,” the report said.

Langel told agents that he’d lived in the home for eight years and then asked to speak to an attorney, the report said.

If convicted on the 10 counts of possession of child pornography, all second-degree felonies, Langel could face up to 150 years in prison.
