ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Christina Love says she used to feel safe in her Fairview Shores home, but now, after dozens of burglaries in her neighborhood over the past five months, that has changed.
Love and her neighbors have been on high alert recently and law enforcement patrols have been increased, but records show they are still happening.

The community is west of Winter Park and north of downtown Orlando.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, since June there have been more than 50 burglaries reported within a 1-mile radius of the Fairview Shores neighborhood.
Love was shocked by the amount.
“I hew we were having a lot of break-ins, but I didn’t realize it was that many of them,” she said.
Love said she caught two people trying to break into her home and on the street next to hers, seven homeowners have reported burglaries.
Many of the residents in the area have taken matters into their own hands by installing surveillance cameras, and Love said her neighbors are ready to help deputies if, and when, the next home is broken into.
She also had a stern warning for anyone planning a burglary in Fairview Shores.
“They better be careful now because everyone’s got their eyes out looking,” Love said.
Deputies have not said if there have been any arrests in the burglaries.
