Residents say mail not picked up or dropped off in Poinciana neighborhood

POINCIANA, Fla. — Residents in a Poinciana neighborhood said some days they get their mail picked up and some days the mail carrier doesn’t pick up their mail.

Ken Hanauer told Channel 9's Jeff Levkulich he's been waiting to receive some important documents in the mail since Nov. 13.

"I don't know where it's going and my information, my trade, is out there someplace,” Hanauer said.

Eyewitness News talked to more than a half a dozen people on San Rafael Way in Poiniciana and all said they’ve had an issue with the post office. Some said that they have not received their bills and have racked up late fees.

Darrell Cobb told Eyewitness News that his mail is still sitting in the box, waiting to be picked up from Wednesday.

"We seem to be getting it now and then. Maybe like every other day, and really, we don't know what the problem is,” Cobb said.

Levkulich went to a holiday party hosted by the Central Florida Postal Customer Council to get answers.

“Where could that mail be going? I guess, what's happening to it?” Levkulich asked.

“I can't speculate right now until I get the facts. I need to speak to the personnel there at the management, at that post office, and do some research on it and investigating before I can even speculate on maybe what the issue is,” said Deborah Vick, USPS Customer Service relations.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service told Eyewitness News over the phone later that they have had only one complaint from the neighborhood, and that was from Hanauer. The spokesperson said customers need to call the post office in order to resolve any issue.
