SANFORD, Fla. — Sanford is moving about $64 million in annual purchasing activity to a new digital procurement system.
The city announced it has partnered with PlanetBids to handle everything from bid solicitations and vendor management to contracts, insurance compliance and public works projects.
City leaders say the new platform will create a more standardized process, improve collaboration between departments and provide a complete audit trail for purchases.
The system will also allow vendors to register, view open opportunities and receive notifications about new bids.
Sanford says the move is part of its five-year strategic plan and is aimed at improving efficiency, financial oversight and compliance with Florida public records and Sunshine Law requirements.
