Shooting death of kidnapping victim likely not random, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 21-year-old kidnapping victim was found shot to death on Coral Cove Drive Friday, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies believe two men stopped their car in front of a Kwik Stop convenience store late Thursday, jumped out and kidnapped Alexsander Previlus at gunpoint.

Police tape was strung around the store, located in the area of North Powers Drive and Silver Star Road, where the abduction took place at about 11:30 p.m.

The victim's mother spoke with Channel 9 Friday morning, saying she didn’t know what to think when she heard her son was taken.

“I guess, ‘What happened?’” Sailzazil Previlus said of her first reaction. “’What is going on? Maybe he is alive, maybe he is dead.’”

She pleaded with the kidnappers to bring her son back safely.

“Bring him home so God will forgive you,” she said.

Family members did not know if the victim knew his kidnappers or why they would have taken him.

Shortly after speaking with Channel 9, the victim’s family members received the news that he had been killed, and they broke down screaming and crying.

OCSO confirmed that Alexsander Previlus had been found dead in the 7000 block of Coral Cove Drive at about 4 a.m. Friday.

The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, investigators said.

Orion Davis lives in the home the victim’s body was found in front of.

He said he was sound asleep and heard nothing.

“The surprising thing is that someone could do that. Dump a man in your yard without any remorse,” Davis said. “It’s kind of scary.”

Investigators said they've talked to two men they believe were involved, but they did not say how the men may have been involved.

“Detectives were interviewing them and they were being cooperative. It could mean anything, from them being at the scene and possibly having information,” said Deputy Rose Silva. “We don’t know exactly what their actions were.”

Sailtazil Previlus said she warned her son about some of the company he had been keeping.

"I told him, 'Don't hang out with friends so much,'" she said. "'You have a brother and a sister.' But he doesn't listen."

The vehicle involved was recovered, investigators said.

Investigators don’t believe the shooting was random and said there appears to be a connection between the victim and the suspects.
