PORT ORANGE, Fla. - A convenience store clerk in Volusia County used beer cans as a weapon to fend off a would-be robber Tuesday night.
Port Orange police said Steven Larson came into the Citgo at Ridgewood Avenue and Commonwealth Boulevard armed with a knife.
In surveillance video a store clerk can be seen running from behind the counter and throwing beer cans, after the man reached over the counter and grabbed what appeared to be cash.
The would-be robber dropped the money and ran out of the store as beer cans flew in his direction.
Police caught up with Larson on Wednesday and arrested him.
