VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Strong wind gusts ripped off the roof of a home in Edgewater on Tuesday afternoon.
No one was home at the time, police said.
The rest of Volusia County has reported other strong wind gusts, downed power lines and fallen trees.
A downed tree stranded some people inside a shopping plaza in Port Orange.

“I happened to be out front; it was pouring. It was windy. It was bands of wind and these two trees came down, said Jerilynn Graves. When the trees came down, people inside the plaza “thought it was a car wreck.”
In Edgewater, a massive tree nearly toppled onto Richard Sloan’s home.

"I'm just glad it fell and not hit nobody or hurt nobody or hit nobody's house. That's what I worry about," Sloan told Channel 9's Michael Springer.
No injuries have been reported from the storms.
