Suspended Eatonville mayor investigated by another state commission

EATONVILLE, Fla. — Suspended Eatonville Mayor Anthony Grant is being investigated by another state commission.

The complaint comes from Grant’s business partner, Jeffrey Wooden, who claims that Grant abused his power as mayor by having Wooden jailed for trespassing.
Grant posted bail last month after he was arrested on felony charges of voter fraud.
“The darkness is finally coming to the light,” Wooden said.
Wooden is the executor for the estate of his mother, who co-owned a motel on East Kennedy Boulevard with Grant. Grant had Wooden arrested and jailed twice for trespassing, Wooden said.
“I was very shocked that somebody could use their political power to throw somebody in jail on their own property,” Wooden said.
The State Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute, deeming the issue a civil matter.
In an email, Grant told Channel 9 that Wooden was "violating a court order" by being on the property, and that Wooden "broke into the office twice" and refused to leave.
Grant also emailed Channel 9, saying, he "will forward you some paperwork that explains my position."
Channel 9 never received those documents.
“I don't think (anybody) in any political office should be able to abuse their people, abuse their residents, their taxpayers, in their own town,” Wooden said.
Grant told Channel 9 that “he respects the commission's process and even Wooden's right to file a complaint, but had no further comment on his alleged actions or the investigation.”
