Evacuation over after powdery substance found at Orange Co. tech school

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

A white, powdery substance found in a bathroom at the Avalon Center for Technical Excellence prompted an evacuation Wednesday afternoon, according to Orange County fire officials.

Crews were called to the scene on Crown Hill Boulevard shortly before 2 p.m.

After determining the substance wasn't dangerous, the evacuation was called off.

No other schools in the area were impacted by the incident.
