ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was fatally struck Monday evening in Orange County’s Union Park neighborhood, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man was walking along the northbound lanes of Dean Road south of Flowers Avenue shortly before 7:15 p.m. when he was struck by a Toyota pickup driven by Benjamin Otterson, 53, of Casselberry, Trooper Steven Montiero said.
The pedestrian was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead, Montiero said.
Investigators said Otterson stayed at the crash scene.
Troopers haven’t yet been able to contact the pedestrian’s relatives to notify them of his death.
The crash remains under investigation.
No other details were given.
