Victim: Men stole guns from uncle's home, broke in again, held her at gunpoint with same weapon

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said three men ages 18, 15 and 15, held a woman at gunpoint in a home Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at the home on South Lake Orlando Parkway just after 9 a.m.

Authorities said it was the second time this week the same group of men robbed the home.

During the first robbery, the culprits got away with a gun, and Wednesday morning, the same gun was used to terrorize Don Chapman’s niece, officials said.

"They had to really work to get in here," said Chapman. "In that bag right there was about 250 rounds of 9mm ammunition. They got all that," he said.

On Monday, the thieves got away with Chapman's handgun. It's the same gun the thieves pointed at his niece when they held her hostage for 45 minutes.

"I thought I was going to die," she said.

Chapman's niece, who did not want to be identified, said she still has concerns for her safety.

She said she noticed a sliding glass door was open, which was odd because she thought she was home alone.

When she turned around, she said she saw three men in the house, and one had a gun pointed at her, the victim said.
"(They) started asking me questions like, ‘Where were the guns, where's the ammo?’ and that sort of thing, and I told him, ‘I don't know. This is not my house,’ but I know that we have guns in a gun cabinet," she said.
While the men allegedly ransacked the home, Orlando police officers received a call about suspicious activity near South Lake Orlando Parkway and Silver Rose Court.

Initially, officers didn't see anything. But they waited and caught the men as they tried to get away.

That's also when Chapman's niece was able to escape to the officer who she credits with saving her life.

"I don't know if I'd be standing here right now if he hadn't have stopped," she said.

Orlando police have not yet released the names of the culprits.
