Victim of Summerfield shooting dies, deputies say

SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — A man found in a van suffering from a gunshot wound in Summerfield Monday afternoon has died, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

According to witnesses, the man, identified Tuesday as William Lolley II, 29, was shot at a home in the 13600 block of SE 80th Avenue, about five minutes down the road from where he was found by deputies, investigators said.

The victim was found at about 4:15 p.m. in the van and was immediately trauma-alerted to the hospital, where he was taken into surgery, deputies said.

Witnesses drove the man from the shooting scene to where he was found, the Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators said they did not believe that the shooter was still at large, but no arrests had been made Tuesday.
