Mother of woman killed in Orange County hit-and-run urges driver to come forward

ORLANDO, Fla. — The family of a woman killed in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County Friday is pleading for the driver who is responsible to come forward.

Jessica Esteras, 21 of Orlando, was walking on the south shoulder of Hoffner Avenue Friday night when a driver struck her fatally and fled the scene.

Troopers found parts of a right rear-view mirror and other fragments of a possible Chevy, but have been unable to locate the driver responsible.

Ana Irizarry, Estera’s mother, does not have any more information about her daughter’s death than that.

“She was a child that was full of life, and had so many dreams and aspirations,” said Irizarry. “She didn't deserve to just be left there to die.”

Irizarry said her daughter had left her home before the crash after a fight with her boyfriend to calm down.

"If you have a heart as a human, then at least you could have done is stop and see how she's doing," she said.

She said Esteras had been hoping to attend college soon to become a veterinarian.

She urges anyone who saw anything involving the crash to come forward and speak to investigators.
