Volusia Co. man nearly crushed by collapsing wall

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A man nearly crushed by a collapsing wall is recovering in Volusia County.

The wall collapsed on the man in the driveway of a Deltona home Tuesday afternoon.

Paul Stewart, the 28-year-old victim's brother, told Channel 9 they were removing the wall after a code enforcement violation.

He said the wall fell unexpectedly and his brother didn't have time to move.

"Step in front of a full-sized truck doing 45-miles-an-hour. That's about the force of what happened here," said Stewart.

The victim was taken to Halifax Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
