Orlando man bitten by shark at New Smyrna Beach, second reported bite this week

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A man was bitten by a shark in New Smyrna Beach on Sunday, according to Volusia County Beach Safety.

Officials said a 23-year-old Orlando man was standing in chest-deep water when he was bitten on the foot.

His injuries are not serious.

A 50-year-old woman from Miami was bitten in the leg and received a second bite on her ankle by a shark in New Smyrna Beach on Thursday.
