Wahlburgers Downtown Orlando to donate $50K to OneOrlando Fund

ORLANDO, Fla. — Wahlburgers Downtown Orlando has officially ended its Pulse T-shirt fundraiser and will be donating $50,000 to the OneOrlando Fund.

The restaurant raised around $25,000 in OrlandoStrong T-shirt sales alone.

Singer and actor Donnie Wahlberg said he donated $25,000 to the fund after being blown away by the community’s response.

"I'm so grateful to the many generous guests of Wahlburgers who purchased #OrlandoStrong T-shirts to help the victims still struggling in the wake of the horrible Pulse tragedy,” said Donnie Wahlberg. “Your generosity has inspired me so much that I am personally donating an additional $25,000 raising the total sum to the victims and their families to $50,000.”

Gina Buell, the restaurant franchisee, personally thanked those who purchased the T-shirts.

Buell said the T-shirt logo was designed to show “the peace, love and strength between Boston and Orlando, two cities affected by senseless tragedies.”

There will be a check presentation ceremony with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and other city officials at a later date.

That date will be determined pending Donnie Wahlberg’s schedule.
