‘We're not harming anyone,' says owner of Sausage Castle

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The owner of the Sausage Castle sat down and spoke exclusively with Channel 9's Jamie Holmes to tell him he's not harming anyone or doing anything illegal.

Eyewitness News reported Monday that owner Mike Busey moved the home from Osceola County to Lake County after neighbors complained about the notorious parties and noise.

The home is now on 80 acres and Busey said enough land to party without being a hassle to his neighbors.

"We live on 80 acres. We're surrounded by 12-foot walls,” Busey said. “I’m just trying to be more respectful. It’s a clean slate.

However, there have been 13 complaints from neighbors in five months, most of it was for noise. Some neighbors have put up signs and handed out flyers trying to get him out of the neighborhood, Busey said.

“We are subjected to false judgment and ridicule, prosecution, based on false realities,” Busey said.

Busey said the Sausage Castle is primarily online where people can pay a $33 monthly membership. That includes exclusive content on his website, VIP admission to the house.

Busey said he’s not charging for parties and he’s also not running a business out of his home.

"You have to watch us and follow us on social media for us to exist. As far as I'm concerned, we don't exist in reality,” Busey said.

Busey said the real parties are smaller. He said every time deputies tell him to quiet down, he complies.

He said he’s just trying to live his lifestyle and run an online business.

"We're just consensual grown adults, living life a little bit differently,” Busey said. “We wanted to settle just like pioneer days and wanted to set up shop and be left alone. This is our land. Just because we like women and guns, doesn’t make us a bad person."

The owner of the property in Lake County lives in New York and is aware of what Busey does in the home. There are no code violations on the property. Deputies said Busey co-operates with them fully.
