‘Whatever they need:' Orlando volunteers head to Texas to help Harvey victims

Several Salvation Army volunteers from Florida are on the way to Texas to help families impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Three volunteers left from Orlando on Tuesday morning in a mobile feeding unit to spend two weeks feeding families.
One of the volunteers, Bill Sweet, helped pack up the feeding unit to feed those who haven't had a hot meal for days.
“It brings a tear to your eye,” he said.
Steve Rocca, another volunteer, is grateful to be able to help.
“In one case, they said they hadn't eaten anything for over a day,” he said.

Volunteers won't know if they're heading to Houston or another city in Texas until Tuesday night, but wherever they end up, it's not just a mission to fill bellies for breakfast, lunch and dinner but to also fill hearts.

“To see the elderly who were stuck in the nursing home, it's heartbreaking,” said volunteer Janis Hill.
Volunteers who prayed in a circle before their journey also plan to pray with people who have lost homes and who are among the thousands living in a shelter.
“That comfort food. That hug. That smile. That prayer. Whatever they need, that's why we are there,” said Sweet.
They will be there for two weeks.
“I don't think any of us feel like heroes. We're just doing God's work,” Hill said.
The volunteers are meeting up with others from around the state in Pensacola, where they will decide which Texas city each unit will be stationed.
