Winter Park fatal beating suspect accused of attacking another teen, police say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A Winter Park teen accused in the beating death of another teenager has been arrested again, police said.

Simeon Hall is accused of beating a teen in the head on Sunday at Ward Park in Winter Park, police said.

The teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but did have significant injuries to his head from the attack, police said.

Hall was arrested later that night and faces charges of aggravated battery.

Hall was under home detention during his arrest for his role in the death of Roger Trindade.

Trindade was beaten to death at a park in Winter Park on Oct. 15, 2016.

Hall and Jesse Sutherland, 15, were charged with manslaughter.

Jagger Gouda, 14, was charged with witness tampering and battery -- charges to which he pleaded no contest. He's scheduled to be sentenced in November.

Hall will remain in police custody.

No one at Hall's home would speak to Channel 9 when we asked for a comment about the recent charge against him.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the charge from Sunday's incident will likely come up in Hall's manslaughter case.

"It's a defense attorney's nightmare," Sheaffer said. "The state attorney may say, 'You know what? We're going to turn this over to adult court. This kid has got some problems. Let the adult court handle it.'"

Court records on the terms of Hall's home detention have not been released because he is a minor, so it was not clear if he violated his home detention by being at Ward Park.

By allegedly taking part in a crime, he did violate the terms, Sheaffer said.

"The chances of this young man getting out of detention are slim," he said.
