BELLEVIEW, Fla. - A young woman lost her right arm after being struck by a train in north Florida, authorities said.
A conductor told deputies that they began blowing the train's horn when they saw the woman, but they couldn't stop the 6,000-foot CSX freight train before hitting her.
Once the train finally did stop, two conductors found the woman, pulled her from under the train and used a belt to make a tourniquet for her arm.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Reports said that friends of the woman later told the deputy about her recent breakup.
