Man, cat treated following Daytona Beach apt. fire

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The State Fire Marshal is trying to figure out what started an apartment fire in Daytona Beach.

Firefighters were called to the Casa San Pablo Apartments off North Ridgewood Avenue around 6 p.m. Thursday.

A cat had to  be treated for smoke inhalation and a man was treated for possible respiratory problems, but no one else was hurt in the fire.

About 50 elderly residents were evacuated while crews put out the first in a unit on the first floor.

Everyone was allowed to return to their homes Thursday night.
