Gunfire heard in surveillance video of Brevard neighborhood fatal shootings

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Officials in Brevard County released surveillance video showing some of the events leading up to a neighborhood shootout that left two people dead and a third struggling to survive.

William Woodward is awaiting trial and could get the death penalty if convicted of the double killings.

In the video, Woodward is seen darting across the yard of his neighbor and then gunshots are heard.

Also seen in the video are other neighbors running from the gunfire.

According to police reports, another neighbor came out after the gunfire, saw Woodward and asked him if he was OK. The neighbor said that Woodward replied, "Yeah, I got them all, man."Gary Hembree died in the carport. Roger Picior was found shot in the yard, and he later died.  Bruce Blake survived and is in the hospital recovering.

Woodward claims he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from being a combat veteran, and that he had been taunted by the neighbors in an ongoing dispute leading up to the shooting.

Woodward is the brother of the Titusville fire chief and is being held in the Brevard County Jail until his trial.

Prosecutors said they filed notice that they intend to seek the death penalty in the case.
