ORLANDO, Fla. — Work began this week to paint the Lake Eola Bandshell in a rainbow theme to honor the victims of the Pulse terror attack.
The idea to paint the bandshell in rainbow colors began in July when two residents proposed it at an Orlando City Council meeting.
"This is a shining example of community collaboration. This started as an idea from a resident and we approached Walt Disney World, who was able to make it happen in time for our Come Out With Pride celebration,” said Sheehan in a press release. “We are grateful for Disney’s generosity, making this remembrance of the victims with a symbol of hope for our community now and in the future."
The entire project is expected to be completed Thursday.
