Here's a roundup of news trending across the nation and world today.

What to know now:

1. Alligator grabs child: A 2-year-old boy is missing after an alligator grabbed the child off a beach behind a Walt Disney World resort hotel Tuesday. Authorities are searching the lake after the boy was grabbed by an alligator said to be between four and seven feet long. The child was playing in about a foot of water in a beach area near the Grand Floridian Hotel. His parents tried to get the child from the animal, but were not successful.

2. Shooter's wife: Officials are considering filing charges against the wife of the man who shot and killed 49 people in a bar in Orlando on Sunday. Noor Mateen, the wife of shooter Omar Mateen, says she tried to talk her husband out of his plans to attack people at the club.  According to sources close to the investigation, Noor Mateen was with her husband when he purchased a holster and a large amount of ammunition.

3. Primary season ends: After a presidential primary season that was historic in about every way it could be, Hillary Clinton took home the last prize – a win in the District of Columbia's Democratic race. Clinton won handily in D.C., then met for nearly two hours with rival Bernie Sanders in a Washington hotel. Sanders did not endorse Clinton as some expected, instead he said earlier in the day he planned to fight for change in the Democratic Party all the way to its July convention.

4. Premiums climbing: A new  study says consumers can expect to see an increase of around 11 percent in health care premiums next year. The study, by the Kaiser Family Foundation, looked at insurer requests for premium increases in 14 metro areas. It found that in 12 of the 14,  premiums are set to go up. In the other two, a decrease in premiums is expected. The largest jump in premium prices was seen in Portland, Oregon, where the cost of health care insurance will jump by 26 percent for some consumers.

5. Howe's funeral: The funeral for hockey legend Gordie Howe is set for Wednesday in Detroit. Howe led the Detroit Redwings to four Stanley Cup wins and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame only one year after retiring (at age 52). "Mr. Hockey" played for 25 seasons in Detroit. He retired in 1972.
