NEPHI, Utah — Grace Eyre came off a float to hand out candy at her hometown parade Friday when she was run over and killed by it.
The small town has rallied behind the family during the loss, helping to raise thousands of dollars through online fundraising, and T-shirt sales, as well as by passing buckets around at community events.
Grace, 11, touched the lives of many and is remembered for her uplifting spirit.
"I remember this one time someone said, 'Grace, slow down,'" Brandi Webster, her second grade teacher, told KSTU. "She said, I don't know how to go slow."

The community created a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $18,000. A youth exercise group Grace was involved with also started selling T-shirts with all proceeds going to the family. Attendees of the Ute Stampede passed around bucket with "Give for Grace" written on them, raising $16,000. Another $6,000 was raised at a parade as well.
