According to the Huffington Post, a video that is gaining attention online  shows a 12-foot-long king cobra, perhaps parched from extreme drought, raising its head to drink from a man's water bottle while surrounded by wildlife rescue workers in a village in Kaiga township.

As one man holds the snake’s tail, another pours water from a bottle over the snake’s head before steadying his hand and placing the opening of the bottle near the cobra’s mouth. The cobra appears to drink the water as the man continues to pour the drink.

A severe drought has been affecting much of India since last year.

Despite their deadly reputation, king cobras account for fewer than five human deaths from India to Indonesia and they only attack when cornered or protecting their eggs, according to the Smithsonian's National Zoo.
